There is nothing like a nice snack at the end of wedding reception. Everyone needs something solid in their tummy before hitting the road. The Courtyard restaurant has started serving up a French Canadian favourite – a make-your own poutine station. Poutine is a wonderful invention of French fries and fresh squeeky cheese curds, smothered in gravy.
Late in the evening, the Make-your-own Poutine station comes out. Immediately the guests start stalking it and hanging around like vultures. Whispers and conversation start spreading about when it will open. Miranda, one of the event coordinators at the restaurant, says “It’s a huge hit! We cannot get it out fast enough”. Guests pile up their choice of Yukon Gold Potato Frites or Sweet Potato Frites, fresh cheese curds and a lovely veal stock demi-glace gravy. Could this be a new trend in late night snacks for wedding receptions?
